Jack Phillips is an amazing musician.
He and his very supportive parents came to my home here in Spicewood TX to purchase the 1965 Emmons wraparound he's now playing. I wanted this guitar to go to an aspiring talented youngster, not a collector or dealer. My trusted friend Bobby Flores assured me that Jack was that player. I believe he was 14 or 15 years of age at the time.
The kid's playing literally took me to school that day to the extent that I was embarrassed to demonstrate the guitar for him, such was his technique and musical acumen at that age.
When they visited and picked up the guitar, his mother told me "well, actually he's really a fiddler." WHAT?!

He's been demonstrating that talent the last couple of years at the TSGA Jamboree where, in addition to being all over the map on steel, he's one of the house band fiddlers onstage backing the other steel players on the show. Such is this young man's undeniable talent.
I can attest that any purchasers of this recording will be more than astounded by his music.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?
