My band does a fair amount of bluegrass instrumentals and I do a verse and chorus of "Tequila" in the middle of "Arkansas Traveler" - to a train beat no less. When the B section II-V-I break comes around which I play with "power chords",the crowd invariably shouts "Tequila!" - we use that for a launching pad to jump into OBS.
I could never see doing the whole song seriously because there's not enough to it but it's kind fun to qoute it for a silly minute, get the good out of it and move on. Plus it usually prompts someone to send up a round of shots of guess what..... -MJ-

Don't remind me.
I was playing with Gus Hardin in Tulsa, and late at night, somebody lined the rail with shots of tequila, and we were obliged to drink them all. I have never been able to drink it sence. Since, that is, due to my lack of sense.
Long live The Champs.

Now I've got a picture in my head of Pewee Herman doing his table dance...

During the summer months, I play at a place on the Lake of the Ozarks called "Tequillaville". Guess what song we start the show with????? I'll give you 3 guesses and the last 2 don't count.
That reminds me. I had the pleasure of working some with the guitar player who played on the "Champs" record. None other than Dale Norris, a fine guitar player who played a Gibson Birdland.
