As John H. said, no website for Zum. I think Bruce is too busy building great steel guitars to mess with a website. He is, as everyone says, a great guy. I was able to finally meet Bruce in St. Louis this year, after having spoken with him several times on the phone.
Yep, my new S-12U Zumsteel should be ready by the end of this month. It will be set up exactly as my Carter is. It will be interesting to compare the two.
I like the new nickname/slogan Wayne. Don't know what it means, but I like it.

You are right about Bruce. He works morning, noon and night on his craft. (someone once revealed, however, that every now and then he catches a 30 minute afternoon nap with Miss Kittie!)
Regarding the business - Bruce and Dorene are quality, ethical, dedicated partners in their 25-year venture. Combined with their personal commitments to excellence and their no corners cut approach to each and every guitar - Wouldn't you say they've raised the bar in craftsmanship?
(Miss Kitty is their cat)
By the way, I share my husband with three zums. He's got another on order. It's the seasonal approach to making guitars last. One for each season, and rotate every two years. He swears the strings last longer
I think that was Bruce's recommendation.
[This message was edited by Donna Dodd on 08 November 2003 at 04:24 AM.]

It Shows too, look at the roster of players he has using his guitars. You are right about Bruce. He works morning, noon and night on his craft.
Just a few are
John Hughey
Doug Jernigan
Hal Rugg
Tommy Dodd
and they all sound GREAT!
If I had this group of players using a product of mine, I would have to work days and nights too to keep them satisfied,
Which he apparently does. I've heard John Hughey say that the Zum is the best guitar he's ever played, doesn't get any better than that.
BTW
He doesn't need a Website, evidently he has found the key to success.

Although there are several high quality manufacturers out there, most with websites,to the best of my knowledge,Bruce does not have a website. However without bashing any other brands of steel guitars I have owned,I have to say that the Zum I currently own is the finest sounding steel I have ever owned. Bar none!

Ben, Good to hear the new guitar is nearly ready. How does she look? How are things going with your Zum? I think Bruce remembers nearly every guitar he has ever built. There are several fine guitars out there, but there are none finer than the Zums. I can't wait to hear more about his new changer system......
[This message was edited by Mark Kelchen on 27 November 2003 at 09:17 AM.]
