Boy I can't wait to hear it!!!
I give music lessons on several different instruments in Cambridge, NY (between Bennington, VT and Albany, NY). But my true love is pedal steel. I've been obsessed with steel since 1972; don't know anything I'd rather talk about... www.barryhyman.com

It's Available Now!

Post by b0b »

The Steel Guitar Forum Members Showcase CD is now available for individual purchase from Kunaki:

http://kunaki.com/sales.asp?PID=PX00JOE94B

Kunaki shipping & handling charges are pretty outrageous, so I ordered a box of them to stock the Forum catalog shelf. They'll be here in a couple of weeks. If you're willing to wait, you can pre-order with free shipping from the SGF online store:

www.steelguitarshopper.com/.../SGF-Members-Showcase-MP3-CD

The free shipping offer will be removed when the CDs arrive here, but our SGF postage rates will always be less than Kunaki's.

Note to participating artists:

I'll mail the artist's copies along with the pre-orders when the shipment arrives. It would save us some data-entry effort here if you went ahead and ordered or pre-ordered your copy from one of the links above.

A few people sent payment with their submission form. Those orders will also be filled when the shipment arrives.

A big THANKS to everyone who submitted music for this project. :D :D :D

Thanks to you for that, Joey. I like the "Rotate Case" button. You can see the whole product there.

By the way, I forgot to mention that the price is only $10.00. That's just 20 cents per song. What a deal!

I like Kunaki, by the way; did my last cd there. But somehow it seemed righteous and good to mail the money directly to bOb, even if it takes longer to receive the discs. Thanks, bOb!

The CDs are now in stock. Order them here:

steelguitarshopper.com/products/SGF-Members-Showcase-MP3-CD.html

I've mailed most of the artist's copies. Ran out of time this week. The rest of them will go out on Monday.

They look and sound great, by the way! :D Thanks, everyone.

I received my CD yesterday, and I've played about half of them so far. It's amazing how much diversity there is. Anyone who thinks the steel guitar has become stagnant, is in a rut, or can only be used for one style of music, has only to play this collection and his fears are refuted immediately.

We owe a big debt to Bobby Lee for all the work he's put into this project. Let's hope we can do it every year. I'm already thinking of my next submission, which is going to be a wholesale improvement on the last. :D
