E Mama E

Post by Gregg Thacker »

I apologise for posting this message in the "Non Pedal" section. I have posted it in the Tablature but I was'nt sure if many non pedelers go to the tab section and I knew they would see this section. I am looking for some Tab to the Hawaiian song "E Mama E" for E9th pedal steel. It would be appreciated if there are some Non pedelers who might could steer me in the right direction or if the have it tabbed could end it to me via E-mail. Thanks in advance.

Gregg

Gregg, I cannot help you with TAB, however you won't hear a better version of that song played on pedal guitar than played by old "Mr. Smoothie" himself, BILL STAFFORD. His version of "E MAMA E" is filled with such expression as to bring the tears to your eyes. Even Hawaiians who have heard it will agree....just too beautiful for words. Image

Check Scotty's music...they have some of Jerry Byrd's pro-arrangements, and 'E Mama E' might be in there.

According to Mel Bay, E Mama E is on
The Art of Hawaiian Steel Guitar By Stacy Phillips.

And you can buy it through the SGF http://steelguitarmusic.com/instruction/nonpedal.html

It is a non pedal version and I have not bought the book yet but I was thinking about buying it so I can't say how complete the version is but it looks like a good book to have.
