Watched a tribute to Dottie Rambo, the great gospel singer, on the Trinity Network last night. Various gospel singers and a fabulous band with Tommy White on steel guitar. Tommy played some exeendingly tasteful stuff on this show. Very enjoyable. Jody.

Thanks Jody. I had forgotten about that TV show, as I believe we taped it 3 years ago at the Ryman.

I wish that I'd have known about this. I'll watch a bunch of TV just to see Tommy hit a lick. (But then who wouldn't.)

I saw this show and it was great! It reminded me of my days of playing Gospel music. We did a lot of Dottie's songs. Tommy did a great job. That looked like Wanda Vick on the fiddle. She's from my hometown, and used to live about 2 minutes away. Her and Tommy are awesome together!

What age were you when you first started coming by Music City Mfg in Nashville.

I worked there from 73-76.

How time fly's.

Those were some great times back then.

Hi Jim,
My trips to Nashville were quite frequent, starting in 1969 when I was 9 years old. My dad and I would visit Sho-Bud and the Jackson's several times during the year, as we resided just a short 164 miles up the road in Louisville,Ky.
I will always have fond memories of the many friends I made at Sho-Bud. I'm also very grateful for being exposed to the best steel players of our time and what I believe was a boom era for the advancement of the pedal steel and it's players at such an early age.
I continue to really love our instrument and only wish more young players and new pedal steel enthusiasts could experience the excitement and intrigue for the instrument I did at that time and maybe they do or will, hopefully.
I also still believe the pedal steel is limitless in musical expression and eventually will be accepted by those that have not been enlightened to it's beauty yet.I think we're seeing evidence of this just recently in various genres.
Well, enough of thinking out loud.
