Steel Guitar in Key West Fl

Post by Ted Nesbitt »

I have a good buddie who is visiting Key West Area in December. He will be there from Dec4th-13th. Is there any steel guitar venues, or bands featuring steel guitar in that area around that time.....Ted

We go to K W several times a year; I know of no country gigs anywhere down there. They have the usual stuff on Mallory Square each day at sundown, but that's folk music; ie, guitar + singer. You might hear some country at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville---on the jukebox.---j---

I get to Key West occasionally and have never found any steel guitar and only an occasinal "country" song at the bars.

A lot of it is "one man bands".

The only thing in the Keys is at "Alabama Jacks" on Card Sound Road, Key Largo. Jimbo Ramsey plays his Sho-Bud there on Saturday and Sunday.
