Looking for any of his recordings pre-Harvest (1972). Have everything w Neil; Ben single-handedly turned me on to steel guitar. What a vibe! Would love to see the instrument showcased in more non-traditional settings. Just a dreamin' man...

I believe he also played on Patsy Cline's version of "I Fall To Pieces" - I don't know how old he is, but that's a long and impressive resumé...

Was Ben on the classic by Faron Young, "Country Girl" back in the late 50's?

He is on a lot of Faron Young's Capitol recordings (late 50's) and even recorded a few track with ET!

Kind Regards, Walter

Get the Darrell McCall box set. He did a lot of those sessions in the early-mid 60's.

Faron Young came to the big town of Porterville CA in Nov '59 and Ben was playing a blond ShoBud. It was the first one that I saw in person in our neck of the woods. He was a hunk of a guy. Sort of reminded me of Dale Robertson, the handsome actor and Ben did some great playing. June Carter and Skeeter Davis was there and Donnie Young played bass (Johnnie Paycheck)

I remember Ben with Faron Young, really impressed me, man that old Bud sounded great with Ben playing.
