I just saw an ad today in the local paper that the Campbell Brothers are appearing here in Eugene on Friday April 25. The SACRED STEEL show is 7:30pm at the Shedd.

I got my tickets last week, thinking they might sell out soon. I was disappointed to see that almost the entire theatre was unsold at that time. I hope they sell enough to make a good crowd. I think this is a group that needs a foot-stomping, hand clapping audience.

for anyone within driving distance who might be interested in this show, here are some links: http://www.ofam.net/home.asp?story=Events

I stayed up to listen to the show and it was fantastic. They played the second half of a show taped in Edmonton. It was very close to what they played when I saw them in Vancouver, and I was happy to be able to hear it again.

The highlight for me was a song whose name I don't recall. It was an instrumental that they said they used to play when they were mad at each other to bring them together again, or something. I was left speechless by the beauty of Derick [sp?] Campbell's playing on that tune. I'm glad I stayed up.

On the other hand, the reason I was at home was that Robert Randolph's show was cancelled at the last minute! Argh! I missed him last time he was in town and some say it was one of the best shows of the year. I hope he comes back soon.
