Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree-2002

Post by Ray Montee (RIP) »

Can anyone who attended or managed the above event, help me identify one of the vendors that had a table just outside of the MAIN ROOM? Upon leaving the BIG ROOM, one would turn right and proceed straight ahead toward a more dimly lit, short hallway.
The first booth on the right was a gentleman who displayed a quantity of BIGSBY Guitars on the table. That was NOT his primary purpose for being there but he did have quite a display.
Just beyond his table area, was a booth with a number of steel guitars for people to try out. They were up on a display table or whatever. (George Boards????)
Any help you might be able to provide will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

Ray, if it was before Gerry Walker's Streo-Steel booth, it was probably Laraby & Meis.... beyond the Stereo Steel booth would proabably be Norris Family Music.

Nick Maniscalco had photos of various steels and accessories for sale. He had one Bigsby, D10 (a photo). He also had the Jerry Byrd Fender, a non pedal Sho-Bud, I can't remember what else. A couple of booths away was George Boards.
[This message was edited by HowardR on 04 January 2003 at 06:30 PM.]

Gene, the Norris Family Music was way on the opposite side of the room that Ray is asking about, I believe.
[This message was edited by HowardR on 04 January 2003 at 06:33 PM.]

As I recall, Jerry Fessenden was set up somewhere around the place Ray is describing. Norris Family Music had an entire room of their own that you would pass on your right after turning the corner en-route to the lobby bar.
