Jack Green's Steel Player

Post by George King »

I was dusting off some of the old Jack Green albums yesterday and I came across an early recording of 'I Love You Because' with a Jimmy Day style kickoff and turnaround.Does any one remember who would have been playing steel on this one? Thanks George

I'm not familiar with his recording of that song, but Pete Drake played on most of his hit records, as I recall.

It could be Buddy Charleton. (Jack was ET's drummer.)

Hi.
Yes, that is Ron Elliott playing steel on Jack's wonderful rendition of "I Love You Because" and he also played on several other songs on that album.
Musically yours,
Leslie Elliott

Ron and Leslie, very dear friends that don't ever get the recognition they deserve. I love them both. Ron is the epitome of smooth and tone.
Merry Christmas, to all

What Bobbe said plus; I found they were some of the most caring folks when a friend of mine had heart surgery. I know the Forum has a lot of these nice people but it couldn't hurt to recognize their contributions. It is good to see and read !!
