Post by Jelle Biel »

I just recieved 2 CD,s JOHN BUFFINGTON on steel & JUNIOR KNIGHT on leadguitar. I just wonder if anybody out there has heard him play. If you haven't, you don't know what you're missing!
When you like ao. the Ray Price shuffles as
""You Took Her Off My Hands""and TOUCH my HEART ,,,?? for me 3 T,s TOUCH-TONE-TAST,and the G for GENTLEMAN.
Oh yeah next to GREAT lead-guitar work from Junior Knight he's got a great band playing with him also.
THANKS John,
Jelle

Thank you for the nice comments about John's CD. It was an honor to have him do his first CD in my studio. He is a CLASS A player and friend!! Everyone needs this CD for their collection. Thanks, Junior.

Yes! we have heard him play and everyone who attends the September 8 meeting of the Texas Steel Guitar Association will get to hear him again along with Luther Thompson from Denison Texas.

Luther a great friend and influence of mine since elementary school days. He one of the new TSGA members and a well known player around the North Texas southern Oklahoma area.

Sorry for the slight drift(commercial) now back to our great friend John Buffington. I agree with you Jelle on the quality and material on John's CD. He and Brother Knight teamed up for a super country steel guitar CD.

Borrowing a phrase from Jeff Newman,"Now thats just good old gut bucket country music."

First, I would like to thank everyone so very much for the compliments. Had it not been for the gentle - "prodding/encouraging" by my hero Junior Knight for 2 yrs., this project would have never happened. I would have never thought in a million years, I would have had the honor of being in the studio with a Texas super picker like Junior, much less him being on my CD. He plays sooooooo fine, and a great engineer also. Just goes to show how great God is and how He works in our lives. I won't be able to make STL this year, gotta work that weekend. My project is still available direct through me, if anyone would like to order one, just e-mail me at
jbuffingtonjr@aol.com
Again, thanks Jelle, Louie and my hero JK, I'm nervously looking forward to seeing you at the TSGA meeting in Sept.

As I read what you guys are saying about John Buffington's CD..can you possibly understand my dilema..i.e. just try playing bass in August when it's 95 degrees and having to wear a Parka..yes I said Parka..this guy will give you chills and cause you to shiver unlike anything you've experienced and I'm forced to stand there a few feet away every Sat nite...it's just awful..I can't take much more abuse

Don't you guys give Junior the big head, he should be able to play lead on the Ray Price songs, he is ex Cherokee Cowboy, and also a great Steel player, and above all that a very nice guy. Haven't heard the CD, but you can bet I will.

You are sooooo right, Junior can do the Price touch, he's been there. Thanks for your order, we're shipping it out this morning, I hope you enjoy it. Jr., played some mighty fine guitar on the entire project and Paul Polish is right there on drums with us and Andrew Frye on keyboards.
