A Must-Have: The Bell Cove Video

Post by Frank Estes »

Well, our pal Joe Wright did an outstanding job producing the best video recording of a live steel guitar performance I have ever seen. I have several videos of the greats and that includes the 1977 Boston video of Buddy and this one of Buddy and Hal at the July NTSGA Jam is by far the best ever.

I was there when it was recorded, but I did not get to see the things that this video shows at various angles. Joe had 5 cameras going and did a wonderful job of editing it. It is about an hour and 6 minutes long with no dead space between songs.

It cost me $35 at the ISGC Buddy Booth and is well worth it.

I am really addicted to the tune called "Freddie the Freeloader" (I think) that Buddy also began his ISGC Friday night set with.

If you want to own a high quality video with great shots of Buddy and Hal playing a variety of music, then you gotta get it!

Thanks Frank for the information on the video.I have to be in Louisville during the next club meeting, but hopefully Hal will have some extras with him, during the jam in October.I would probably buy one at that time.

Buddy ran out at his booth. I hope they make more of them so I can add them to the site.

The four I had are gone already.
