Lloyd Green Question

A friend of mine is not hooked up to the Net,
and asked me to post this for him.He has a Sho Bud Lloyd Green model,and a Peavey Nashville 1000,He would like to know what Lloyd's settings are,Can anybody help?

Lloyd's tuning can be found at top of page under tunings. NV-1000 are Low +6 Mid -10 Shift 600 High +3 Presence +6 Reverb to taste.Not guaranteed thats what he is playing now. Also guaranteed is the fact that your friend wll not sound like Lloyd with those settings.

Last time I was At Lloyds House.....he didn't have a NV 1000 anywhere to be seen. He has an old Session......and he records with Ricky Skaggs' Fender Twin.
His LDG is a longer scale and sounds different and better than the other LDG(tone all it's own)....He does use the Bass on the amp up about 3 o'clock.....mids cut shift 1 or 2 o'clock...highs and presence around noon......Have fun.

Ricky, Lloyd is using a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe with a 15 inch JBL in place of the 12 inch speaker that comes in the amp. His latest project has been entirely done with the Hot Rod and not the Fender Twin that Ricky gave him.

I spoke to Lloyd last week about the upcoming St. Louis show and he asked if the Nashville 1000 amps would be available for this show. Peavey has provided the complete sound system for this show for close to 30 years. No other amplifier company has been more supportive(and appreciative) of the steel guitar community than Peavey Electronics.

Wow Mike, yes, I have to agree 100%, Peavey has been there to support steel guitarests since the beginning of the company. What kind of money would steel players have to spend on equipment if we didn't have Peavey products? A great value for a great product.
At every major steel show, This great company is there free to do sound for us. I feel we should be very honored for having this company behind us.
Might be a good time to have some big party to honor and show them how appreciated they are. Just think about it guys, what other company has done so much for the steel community? Just add up and think about how good they have been over the past 30 years!!
Peavey is a company that gives a lot and charges a little. Hard to find anymore in this day and time!

I'm sure you're right about Peavey's support of the steel guitar community, Mike. However, 'old rehashed sound'? Give me a break! 'Scuse me, I've gotta go change the channel - there's a commercial on.

So those two cuts (the only ones he had at the time) were with that Hot Rod??? Wow...I must look into that amp.
So when is Lloyd releasing that thingy???

Peavey has been a lifesaver for the steel guitar players as they have always had the highest of quality product at affordable prices. I have a Session 400, a Session 400 LTD, and a Nashville 400. Sold my Session 500 last week. I have been using Peavey amps and various other Peavey products since dayone and they have never failed me. High Mike, nice to see you and converse with you at the Dallas Show. I hope to have a Nashville 1000 as soon as I can figure out how to smuggle it into the house. Bobby, the only thing that sets his LDG apart from the others is that it is LDG #1 and that it is owned by Lloyd Green. Other than that, it is a Sho~Bud LDG 3 & 4 with a Lawrence 710 pickup. It is in immaculate condition and it has never been refinished.

Bobbye, I don't think that a party is unnecessary...............but it would be fun!

My point is simply that Peavey is here to provide a service, and hopefully that is what I try to do in a professional way. Sure I agree that some of the older and existing products are great(Peavey or non Peavey). By "rehashing", I meant that there are new methods and ideas to 'achieve' the sound that started it all back in the early days. I'm all for a 10 pound amp that can produce 300 watts, with a 15" speaker that sounds great for steel guitar and I believe that there will be one in the future. In my book, you can't deny the success of past recordings.

Mike, if I remember correctly, Lloyd was responding (through Ricky ? or somebody) to questions on this forum a while back and did mention that his LDG has a 24 1/2" scale as opposed to the standard Sho-Bud 24" scale and I believe there were a small amount (less than 10) built the same way at that time. When I asked the question about that long scale breaking the wound 6'th string he responded that the peghead had been replaced early on with a smaller one. So if I am right about all this trivia his guitar is a little different but I would be willing to bet that he could sit down to a standard LDG and sound just as good to about 99% of us. Jay, you are correct. The outline of the original keyhead is still visable and it is the longer scale.
