I think Chuck Rich used to play the Midwestern Hayride show on TV. He played with
his band @ a PSG show in Lexington KY one year. Great chops!

How about that guy.
Chuck is an old friend. We used to work together in a trio (bass drums & Steel).
Chuck works with a band in Wilder Ky. at Bobby Mackey's Place. They have a great band of all the better Cincinnati players.
Chuck & I used to work with Kenny Price. He is originally from Michigan & I think moved to southern Ohio In the late 70's. He did play steel on the midwestern Hayride ( A Cincy Country Music show until its departure. Kenny Price was the drummer on the same show. Chuck is a super player fast as lightning & soul to match. If you ever get time check him out he will impress.
I believe he worked the Lexington Ky show last year with another standout from this area Kenny Hollicross. These guys are super players. Hear them if you get a a chance.
Chuck did a recording on RCA with Kenny called the Super Sideman album it is great. He has been the steeler of choice for all the local recordings in this area ,gospel & country ,for many many years.
Just a little history

He most always plays the Middletown, Ohio show of Chubby Howards, every October. He brings his own band and they have a really tight group with great tone and arrangements. He has a great guitar player also. Another treat at Chubbys show is usually Scotty Anderson. He is a super Tele player. One of the fastest I have ever seen. Plays with great taste too.

I had a band in a club called the Boulevard in Cincinnati about 1986 Chuck was our Steel player & our guitar player was sick one night. We hired Scotty Anderson to fill in.
There was more great picken & Instrumentals played that night than we usually played in a month. These guys are both monsters.

The guitar player in Chucks band is named Ernie Lainhart.

Several Years ago, My Brother David Rolfe worked at a recording studio in Cincinnati called Artist's Recording Studio and Chuck was their staff steel guitar artist when they used a steel. They made records for the Happy Goodmans, Cathedral Quartet and other gospel groups. He was a monster picker then and still is. He is also a super person as well.

Chuck and his band grace our Lexington show the first Saturday of November each year (November 2 this year). As nice a guy as you would ever want to meet. One of the few players who regularly gets a standing ovation each year. Outstanding band with him. Jack is right, monster picker! Come to Lexington and hear him and the band.
