Bawl!! It's back to work for me now that the Dallas Convention is over, and I have access to Email at my high school, and it's some free time away from the kids...so here are some of my highlights from Dallas:
1.) Seeing my pal, Dr. Wayne Yakes, get the TSGA's annual President's Award for his contribution to the steel guitar and community.
2.) Getting to hang out with the Colorado Connection at the show: Dick and Lois Meis, John Arnold, Bob Case, John Macy, Ronnie Miller and Buzz Evans (both ex-Colorado pickers).
3.) Playing my set on Saturday Night with Roy Rosetta and Paul Polish, as well as with my Denver buddies, Jim Stalhlut and Dale ("Fingers of Fury") deAragon. Watching Charlie Norris' response when I played his tune, "Shirley," and trying to hide the FryPan from Scotty.
4.) Getting to talk with some Forum friends like Mike Perlowin, Pete Burak, Neil Flanz, Jurgen (from Bear Records), Bob Blair and bOb. I especially liked our conversation on tone (It's in the hands!").
What a great weekend. My thanks to Charlie Norris and to the TSGA. Now if I only can keep up my energy level for teaching high school until my Summer Vacation!

Hey Chuck!
Well-your set would be a highlight-as well as Buzz's.
Security guards at 1AM would be another.
DEFINITELY Wayne getting that award. Long time Comin'.
Interviewing Dick Meis. And Herby Wallace. And Herb Steiner.
And also seeing everyone-someone made a good point-we all live within 45 minutes of each other-and gotta drive 800 miles to Dallas or St Louis to see each other twice a year!
