Entourage wed browser default

Post by Bob Hoffnar »

I'm trying to check out different web browsers like Omni and Opera and I can't find the place to switch the default hyperlink settings in entourage. I end up with IE no matter what I do.

You know when you get a link in your e mail and it opens a page when you click it. I'm getting really tired of all the pop ups I can't stop with Internet Explorer. I have a Mac osx and there are no good IE filters or blockers out there.

Both.

To reset your default browser in OSX:

<ol>
[*]Open System Preferences/Internet & Network/Internet</li>

[*]Click the Web tab</li>

[*]Click the Default Web Browser dropdown menu</li>

[*]Select Opera or OmniWeb from the list</li>

[*]Close the preferences panel</li>
You should also make some changes so that when you double-click an HTML file it will open Opera/OmniWeb instead of IE:

<ol>[*]Open a Finder directory window containing an HTML file</li>

[*]Click the file once to highlight it</li>

[*]Press Cmd-I. The Info window displays.</li>

[*]Click the General Information dropdown menu and select <b>Open with
application</b></li>

[*]Click and hold the Internet Explorer icon to display a list of other apps.</li>

[*]Select OmniWeb/Opera from the list, or Other if they aren't listed.</li>

[*]Click the Change All... button. A confirmation dialog displays.</li>

[*]Click Continue to dismiss the dialog.</li>
You're done!
