Macintosh/Sony Discribe Problem

Post by George Kimery »

I have an IMac and a Sony Discribe CD Burner. I have a dedicated controls and extensions set consisting of Shuttle USB-ATAPI, Shuttle USB ATAPI SIM, Text Encoding Converter, and USBHIDuniversalmodule activated. This is the ONLY extensions that are turned "on". I get a freeze or else just a perpetual "scanning busses" icon when I try to copy a CD. Does anyone have a similar set-up and if so, what extensions are turned "on"? This is frustrating. I have been able to burn CD's in the past, but now something is not right.
Thanks so much for any suggestions.

I don't have the exact items you are describing, but approaching it from basic Mac troubledhooting:
does the USB cable work with another device like a printer?
are you saying these are the only extensions turned on besides a "base system"?
what OS version are you running?
which flavor iMac?

have you tried reinstalling:
1. CD software first
then if no go

2. "Clean" System install (renames existing system folder "Previous system folder" and creates a new plain vanilla System folder)2.b.reinstall CD software
[This message was edited by Dave Van Allen on 12 March 2002 at 08:18 AM.]
