Hypothetical question

On my '59 Stringmaster, Suppose I were to create and add a clean attachment to an email. My own virus scanner detects nothing and I send it.....Can it pick up a virus on the way out? If your "Stringmaster" is "clean" (no viruses) then the e-mail leaving your "Stringmaster" (with or without attachements) is also "clean".
