Having problems with record length.

When I want to record a wave file from the output of my VS1680, the sound recorder only gives me 60 seconds of recording. Is there a way of altering that?

I seem to recall that there was a length limitation with the Windows Sound Recorder. There are a lot of programs available to record that don't have a limitation. Recently I've been bringing up GoldWave with various sound questions but it works and works well. The evaluation version of GoldWave is not crippled and will let you do what you want. www.goldwave.com

Im not sure what a VS1680 is , but I use Media Rack to record wave files longer than
60 secs. Its a wave recorder,CD player Etc.
I keep it on my desk top. It is a very simple small program. It will record any length of wave file. I usually convert the wave to MP3 to save space. I cant remember where I found Media Rack, but I could send ya the program if you cant find it anywhere.

It's shareware.

There IS a way to get longer than 60 seconds out of Sound Recorder, though.

If you've just GOT to use that program, I'll figure out how I did it. I've got a 5-minute (blank) file on my system that I created just for that purpose.

I believe what you have to do is this:

1) Record a 60-second file of nothing (turn down inputs)

2) Save file as 1minute.wav

3) Open file back up.

4) Record another 60-seconds of nothing.

5) Save file as 2minute.wav

6) Open up this file

7) Repeat as necessary

John, Last year on this forum, I learned of Internet Tapedeck. I've found it to be a useful free multi-track recorder. The site was down for a while but is back up now. http://recordlab.com/ Did I mention it was free?
