Trouble opening a PDX file

Post by Mark Krutke »

I somehow managed to save all my "deleted items" (e-mails and pictures) in my Outlook Express to a PDX file, but now I can't seem to open it. I do a shift, right click to get the options to open it with, but nothing opens it. I have it stored in My Documents for now. Can somebody show me how to open this?

I looked at my Outlook and there is no option for a "pdx" file. Are you sure that is the file type??

I don't know how I did it, but in the properties of the file it says it's a PDX file. I can't seem to get it back into Outlook.

Outlook does create a PST file. Try renaming the file with a .pst extension. Provided the file itself is intact, Outlook will be able to import it. I have to wonder though, why you'd want to get your deleted items back. Image

I found a "PDX" extension. On my PC, it's associated with the Adobe PDF reader. It's a "IDS Catalog Index" file - whatever that is. Exporting to an Adobe format is not an option in Outlook.

The "pdx file" is a file that I found information on in the Outlook Express 'help' area. I called up my internet provider, and he gave me a name of a site, in which I downloaded a "PDX Extractor", and I was then able to open up this file by using this extractor. The file was almost 60 megs (alot of pictures). Thanks guys, anyhow.
