cookies will delete all but 40 items on puter. have tried deleting one at a time. will not do it. have clicked on bottom one and delete. still wont. any ideas?

this problem is a friend of mine whom i think went into x-rated material such as pamela anderson and it puts stuff on his puter he cant get off. afraid his wife will see it i reckon. lol

Cookies are just small text files. Check the attributes of them by right clicking and selecting properties. If they're marked as read only and/or hidden, uncheck those boxes and try the delete again. The archive box doesn't matter.

Bill....

Try renameing the cookie. Be sure to add the extent to the name too.

Example:
mygirl.jpg

change it to read
photo1.doc

Then delete the cookie under the new name.

Believe me the porno sites arn't the only ones that attempt to put non-deleteable cookies on your computer. I wind up wadeing through this hassle ever couple of months or so.
