sndscape?

Post by Clarence Wilson »

I am ashamed to ask for help, but I am desperate. When my computer crashed last week, I was able to get it up and running with all systems on "go", except for my sound card. I have a recover disk which came with it from Gateway which has the 'video, modem, keyboard, sound card and mouse programs. The sound card can't be loaded because of SNDSCAPE. The message reads, " can't load "sndscape". I've searched hi and lo for a reference to sndscape, but to no avail. This message is, of course, in the DOS section, before it reaches the WIN part.
I'm about ready to go out and buy a new computer, if I can't get the sound going soon

Thanks

Have you checked the Gateway web support or called Gateway support?? That would be the logical place(s) to look for assistance.

Clarence -- Presuming Louie is correct, here's a link to the Ensoniq/Drivers page.

If you see your card listed, you may find your solution here. -- Everett

Thanks folks for the suggestions: Gateway
did indeed answer my Email. After 2 Mails,
I downloaded the latest driver. SB and Ensonic are the same outfit.

One hour before my machine sound came to life, I ordered a new machine from Gateway.
The 1500. A monster to be sure. Just as this machine was a monster 2 1/2 yrs. ago.

I was going to get a new machine all along, and give this one to one of my sons. I have nothing but praise for the Gateway people.

Outlook, now has went belly up and I had to go back to my old standby Eudora, an older version.
Sigh
