Non-loading images.

Why is it that some images here on the forum are not loading in my browser? These are usually images posted by members in various threads. For example, there is a thread on Bar Chatter, “ca 1957 Sho-Bud”, that has an image that comes up as a little icon with an “X”. When I access the browser pop-up menu to “Load Missing Image” it still does not load. This happens enough to make it annoying.

I am using a Macintosh Blue&White G3 and AOL 4.0.

Any suggestions/opinions?

If a few of the images here are not loading on your browser, it is probably because they are not posted properly, IE. using the proper syntax.
If none of the pics are loading , then your browser has to be altered.
It may be that you need to reset the default values .

Generally on MS operating system machines the Red X means the either there is an incorrect or missing link URL, the remote server where the graphic is stored is not available or the graphic it'self is no longer available.

The Mac is probably the same.

One other thing is AOL. AOL tends to do some things differently or won't allow certain size files, etc. I've noticed on some web pages they have special pages for AOL.

Mark, I also use a Mac with Netscape. Go to the Feedback and Testing, and if you can open David Wright's Test thread, Your browser is working right. I have noticed that the server for some images is sometimes down and of course they don't work.

While those images look like they're on the Forum, in fact they are scattered all over creation. The only ones that are actually on the Forum server are the ones that I post (since it's my server). All of the others are hyperlinked from other sites.
