Tech Question

Post by Rick Nicklas »

I would like to patch my Nashville 112 thru my Session 500 so I can use the 112's EQ while using both amps in tandem. I know I should run a chord from the 112's Preamp Out.... but where should I insert it on the Session 500? And, is it safe to do this? I really appreciate any advice on how to try this.

Rick,

If you just want to "slave" the Session's power amp, run a patch cord from the NV 112 Pre Amp-out to the Session Power Amp-in. That is what it's made to do.

Prepare to hear ground loop hum! When two amps are chained you will get hum, worse in some places than others. The unsafe thing to do is to put a ground lift plug on the AC power cord. The safe thing to do is to use a Hum-X by Ebtech on one of the amp's power cord!

Ebtech Hum X Hum Eliminator

Eliminate the Hum, Not Your Sound!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Ebtech Hum X adapter filters out the unwanted voltage and current in the ground line that cause ground loop hum, while simultaneously maintaining a solid, safe ground. With the Hum X, you no longer have to run your audio signal through any type of filtering or ground lift, which can result in loss of volume, tone or both. Some devices simply remove the ground, which is never safe! Simply place the Hum X on the end of the power cord of the equipment that has a ground loop and plug the Hum X into the wall outlet. Ground loop is gone and audio signal remains intact! The Hum X is easy to use, easy to install and completely effective! The Hum X is the safest way to get rid of ground loop hum.

Eliminates ground loop hum
Maintains safe, solid ground
Avoids loss of volume, tone or both in your audio signal
Plugs conveniently into your power cord and wall outlet
