Great sound company in Houston TX?

Post by T. C. Furlong »

I have been asked to find a great sound rental company in or near Houston. It's for a TV broadcast origination. If anyone knows of a sound company that has great customer service and a good sized inventory, I sure would appreciate a referral. Thanks in advance!

T.C. - Are you looking for television production specifically or a good live reinforcement sound company that has experience and abilities with television production? Also are you looking for production services or just equipment rentals?

I am involved in both markets and I'd be happy to do some digging for you, but the differences in business focus can be significant.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your kind offer. Last week,I looked at the PDX Audio site. Cool! I also enjoy reading your posts.

I too am involved in sound reinforcement and audio for TV. I have been searching for a qualified company via other methods but I was thinking this great forum could turn out to be a big help. From what I understand, this gig is more about sound reinforcement and having "oh by the way" gear(probably RF mics and RF intercom) on hand and close by. There is nothing like a referral (maybe from a SGF brother or sister) to seperate the posers from the real deals. Thanks again Dave.

Try H&H Music, Parker Music, and Evans Music in Houston. There may be other good ones, but these are starters.

Thanx,
Jim
