Shipping my BW 1501 SB!

Post by Michael Haselman »

Finally! I've been waiting all summer, and as I'm sure Mike B. can attest, there's been problems at the Peavey speaker factory. But I got a message from my Peavey dealer that they're shipping my 1501 on Monday. It's for my Webb 6-14E. I'll post when I get it and install it. I'm anticipating it'll be worth the wait.

Got it today! I'd like to thank myself for my patience. (I ordered this in June) Plugged it in in the basement, and it sounds great there. Can't wait to get it to a gig. I noticed immediately that I need much less volume. I don't know if this was from using a fried K-130 for awhile or the BW is just louder, but so far it sounds great. Does anybody keep spare baskets for these?

Michael, you may order replacement baskets through our Parts Department by calling toll free at 1-877-732-8391 and selecting the "Parts" option or order through your local authorized Peavey dealer.

Got to use it (finally) last night for the first time on the job. Sounds great, and I didn't adjust anything from my JBL settings. My volume stayed under 4 where it used to be between 5 and 6 for the same volume. I'm a convert and would recommend the BW to any Webb owner.

Mike,That Webb with the new speaker sounded as good as any steel guitar i have ever heard.
Your band sounded great and your steel was as great as a steel could be..
And that is testimony to the great sound of a 83 Marrs in the hands of a good player.
Wow! Wished i could of stayed longer!

Thanks, Sonny. I'll be seeing you later this week. One more note on the BW. I seem to get better bass response and greater overall headroom than with the JBL. Thanks, Peavey for making a great product for steel guitarists. I'm pretty blown away by the speaker.
