Johnson Resophonic guitars

Post by Keith DeLong »

Has anybody had any experience with Johnson resophonic guitars? Checking out Dobros and the less expensive copies, i.e. Epiphone, Regal, and Johnson, the Regal and Epiphone didn't come close to the Dobros for volume and clarity, but the Johnsons had the best sound of the cheaper guitars. I'd be interested to hear some other opinions.

Keith
if you hit the 'search' button you'll find quite a few threads about Johnson resonators. By and large, people seem to like them. Mine was good value for money.

Thanks for the reply, Mick--I saw a couple of Johnsons on Ebay for around $199 US--seemed like a really good price, trouble is, they only ship to continental USA. There are dealers in Canada, in fact, two of them in Halifax NS near my home, so after the ho;idays I think I'll check them out. Have to modify them a little as I'm a lefty :-{, but one dealer said he could do that for me.
