Pots for Volume Pedal

I ran across some Volume Pedal pots.
I have 2 different kinds;

AB
93869B
A-500K-ohm
TYPE J
..............
OHMITE
TYPE AB
0.5-meg
NO. CA-5041
made in USA

I have one AB TYPE J made in MEXICO.
I have read on the fourm that the older AB pots are better than the new Clarostat's made in MEXICO.
Can some one help me with which is better?
