Zoom effects

Post by Niklas Widen »

I've got a zoom gfx 707 effects pedal that I use with my electric guitar. Has anyone tried this unit, or other similar zoom effects, with steel? I think it's got some nice reverbs and delays, but has anyone found any really good settings for it?

I have a Zoom Reverb/Delay box; it seems to have loads of different types of effect on it, but I never really found the "wow" setting on it. Don't know if it's the same model, though. I didn't like that you couldn't tweak the details on a particular kind of reverb, or delay. It just had a bunch of different fixed position items. I kind of like having knobs to fiddle with.

I use a Zoom 505 II and I use mainly 2 patches:One patch with a "flat" response on the EQ; and one brighter patch with a similar EQ they use on amps. Both have a bit of reverb and a bit of compression.
I use the bright patch all the time.

All other FX I use for gimmicks e.g. an Echoplex type of delay for Albert Lee type of playing or Fuzz or Chorus etc.
