OMI produced these in the early '80s from memory. They were based in Huntington Beach CA and owned the Dobro name. They were connected to the Doyeras through family. Ron Lazaar was a real nice guy. I took my model 27 down there for a set-up job. I guess these lap steels were only produced for a while. They also had some cool flat top acoustics called Hound Dogs.

WOW....never see one. Dobro brand electric hawaiian steel......man I can tell you that looks great. The sound will be great cause I know that wood. And the scale length and string spacing looks great.Bill Lawrence 705 pickup...and I know that pickup is good for that style guitar.
Can't believe I've never seen one.
Way cool and great find.

couldn't figure that one myself...looked to me to either be one of those 1st year hardly ever produced Gibson/Dobro Lapsteels or a bootleg w/a Dobro Decal...
