Dobro instruction
I'm looking for suggestions on dobro instructional material. I'm new to dobro but have played bluegrass guitar for many years. I also took up pedal steel a little over a year ago and my approach to learning that was not neccesarily memorizing songs from tablature but learning backup and fills and chord progressions on different locations of the neck. In other words learning the neck instead of learning songs. I would like to use this approach with dobro as well. I'm mostly interested in the open G tuning and playing the bluegrass style. Is there any instructional stuff out there that emphasizes this approach. Thanks, Alan

Hi Alan..
If you're looking for written material the Stacy Phillips books (I think one is called the "Complete Dobro Book" are essential.
If video is your thing the Mike Auldridge colection gets high praise from many. You can buy right from Mike at http://www.mikeauldridge.com .
