Pickup microphonics

I have TPPPP pickups on both necks of my guitar. They are and always have been microphonic. This isn't a terrible problem that's bothering me, but I am curious as to whether I can make it go away.

Any help or suggestions welcome. TIA

Hi Cliff, My Tele was really microphonic
and was that way for as long as I had it,
A friend of mine suggested dipping the pick-up in clear Varnish, I didn't even take
the pick-up out just hung the guitar upside
down, dipped it 1 time slowly and let it hang
to dry over night. Problem solved. A guitar
tech even tried before that with different
rappings and what not, without success.
The varnish is better than wax for obvious
reasons.
With it being in a steel, you will probably
have to take it out and dip it let it dry
and you should be sailing. Worked like a charm for me and its not even slightly
microphonic anymore. No difference in tone
at all and costs just your time. Good Luck!

The TPPP pickups are relatively new and probably still under warranty. I'd contact George L's before you do anything else.

What kind of guitar are these mounted in??

I used TPPP's on a Mullen a few years ago. They sound great but are a bit microphonic.

Somehow (?) I never even thought of contacting George L's about this. I think that's where I ought to take this before I do anything else.

Greg...I'd actually heard the same tip a while back from a good guitar tech I know.

I haven't heard of anyone with "microphonic" or pickup noise problems on a Carter. May be a good idea to start with John at Carter first before going to George L's.

I've had a microphonic TPPPP. In a short time it got worse and worse, to a point that it got really bad.
I'd get feedback and couldn't execute long pedaled slides anymore for the amount of changer noise and the risk of feedback with the wide open volume pedal.
I sent it back for a new one. The new one's been doing very well for two years now. As I've been told the plastic plates the magnets a run into can crack and then the magnets may start to move and there you go "fuiiiiiiiiiii"....
