Joan Osborne

Post by John Macy »

Seeing the post on Madeleine Peyroux made me want to mention this one, too. Joan had a huge record a while back with the hit "What if God Were One of Us" and others. She has been all over the map musically, doing "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" to touring with The Dead etc.

Anyway, I got the call to back her up on E-Town, a very coool NPR radio show that features lots of music along with a focus on environmental issues. She has a new record coming out on Sugarhill that is way cool--done in Nashville with Paul and Dan on steel. Very earthly, with lots of good songs and playing. She was great to work with, and really loves the steel, too Image. Something worth checking out IMNSHO... Image

Oh yeah, she does a killer version of "Please Don't Tell Me How the Story Ends"... Image
[This message was edited by John Macy on 06 November 2006 at 06:40 AM.]

Hey John,
That's great news! I enjoyed Joan Osborne's version of "What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted" from that film. Did you cover that song for the show?
