Not sure when this clip was originally recorded, but it shows a fairly young Barbara Mandrell handling vocal and steel duties quite well:

Jason, on a very rare occasion you're wrong! That was Billy Mize and Johnny Bond who came walking in at the end of her song but seeing the set and Billy and Johnny together I'd say the show was "Melody Ranch" which Billy hosted on KTLA Channel 5 every Saturday night for a long time. It was a modern version of Gene Autry's old radio show and on occasion Gene would guest on the show. The musical director was Carl Cotner (fiddler) who was Gene's musical director for many years. Billy told me once that Barbara's family would bring her to where he was playing when she was a little girl and she'd set on his lap and play one neck of his steel while he played the other. He said after she was all grown up he asked her if she'd like to do that again and she laughed as said "No, my husband wouldn't like it" or something like that. Who knows, maybe she'd like it. Billy was a handsome dude and the ladies loved him.........JH in Va.
