Need Seeds & Stems
No--this is not a 420 request. This is just one of those songs that I never really knew (was too busy picking out seeds & stems maybe). Its on a setlist I'm cramming on for a Rodeo Bar show this week and although I have the chart, I just don't have the song in my head.
Can anyone send me even a low-res mp3? I'd sure appreciate it.

Don't have the MP3, but the inro is V-IV-I, verse is I-III-IV-I, repeat, VI-V-IV-I_V-IV-I. Bridge: IV-I-IV-I-IV-I-VI-II-V. Hope this helps. Substitue regular numbers for Roman, and if you don't know the number system, well...you're on your own

Down to Seeds and Stems Again
Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen
<font face="monospace" size="3"><pre>
INTRO: chords to last verse line, twice (G F C G F C)
C E F C
I'm sittin alone, Saturday night, watching the Late Late Show.
C E F C
A bottle of wine, some cigarettes, I got no place to go.
A G F C
Well, I saw your other man today; he was wearing my brand new shoes,
G F C
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.
Well, I met my old friend Bob today from up in Bowling Green;
He had the prettiest little gal that I'd ever seen.
But I couldn't hide my tears at all, cause she looked just like you,
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.
CHORUS:
F C F C
Now everybody tells me there's other ways to get high.
F C A D G
They don't seem to understand I'm too far gone to try.
C E F C
Now these lonely memories, they're all I can't lose,
G F C
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.
[Ride over verse, guitar/steel]
[first line spoken, not sung]
Well my dog died just yesterday and left me all alone.
The finance company dropped by today and repossessed my home.
That's just a drop in the bucket compared to losing you,
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.
TAG: G F C
Got the Down to Seeds and Stems again Blues.
</pre></font>
Sorry the chords all ended up on the left when I pasted...but you get the idea.

If the recording I just listened to is the original then I think not. I'm looking for the right way to say this but let's just say that it's not quite what I would expect from him.
Would this be the mysterious Virginia Creeper?
---I believe the album is "Lost In The Ozone".<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Jon Light on 07 October 2006 at 09:36 AM.]</p></FONT>

I think Don Bolton. Not sure what they're doing these days. Bobby Black plays steel with them locally around the Bay area I hear, but Cody doesn't use a steeler for the shows too far away from home...at least he hasn't used one the times I've seen him up here in Portland.

Bauer is correct. WVACreeper's real name is Steve Davis. He's also an excellent player of classical guitar. Or was, anyway. I'm sure his steel playing has improved from that era, if he stayed with it.
