Moisture in solid guitar body blank question

I have some really nice alder boards for a solid body guitar. It has been air drying for about a month. QUESTION Do I need to wait on the wood to dry or can I go ahead and make the body and let it dry before finishing or go ahead and not worry about the moisture? Thanks in advance.

Let it dry. If it is air drying--couple of years in your attic might work. The heat will drive out the moisture. I have wood that is is 25 to 50 years old. Some of it baked in the attic for 15 years. Just now getting to the point where it is really worth making something out of.

dry for a couple years, depending on thickness or maybe you can get a woodshop to kiln dry 'em for a fee.
