How does this work.........

Post by Charles Curtis »

I have been listening and enjoying the CDs of Bobby Flores and Christine Mims. Do these get any "play" down in Texas on the air? I wonder just why these are not played by the local stations in our area? Surely someone can give a good explanation.

Probably because they haven't handed some indie promoter $100K, who then would have handed $50k of that to a some radio network rep.

It's all about money, Charles. Pay the greasy man behind the curtain and your song magically appears on all the network radio stations.

Nothing much happens in this country anymore without some sort of financial consideration. Image

I believe that when an artist gets that good; sooner or later they'll get a break.

Charles...it takes a lot of time and efford to get that far.Donny is right,it takes a heap of money to get airtime.Or you must have a buddy in that business that wants to do you a favor.
Local radiostations have some connections to the larger networks but if that helps.........I have no clue.

The radio stations in my area will not play your songs, unless they have charted..how do they chart ???? airplay, or as Donny said, lay $100K or more on someone...and they are 'charted'...
One station here offered to give me airplay...on the " Outlaw Hour ". which braodcast after midnight..,along with rousing selections such as Jerry Jeff Wakkers, " Pissing in The wind'
You have to have lots of money, or have an 'Angel' to bankroll you...
