Tenor sax player with the West End Horns. Worked a lot behind Doug Sahm.

When I moved to Austin in 1979 it was to play in Doug Sahm's band with Rocky; what a sweet wonderful man and unbelievably awesome player. One of my favorite all time memories is spending the weekend with Rocky as his guest in his San Antonio westside neighborhood, where he was treated like a king in every bar, poolroom and icehouse that he took me to...

Rest in peace my friend...

Janice, thanks so much for posting this; it was the first I'd heard of his passing...

But a correction: Rocky's last name is "Morales".
[This message was edited by Pete Finney on 05 August 2006 at 10:52 AM.]
