Is it a bad idea to date a guy who plays...

Post by Jeff Agnew »

I can't believe the advice this poor girl received. The correct answer?

Run. Run fast. Run now.

Please feel free to enlighten her. Do it for the children.

Jeff--My wife says that your advice is also appropriate for girls who may be attracted to pedal steel players.<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Dave White on 14 June 2006 at 05:00 PM.]</p></FONT>

The Correct answer is YES!!!

If there weren't people out there ready and willing to date banjo pickers then you would have a world full of homeless banjo pickers.
Can you just imagine a banjo picker on every street corner, in every downtown area, of every major city.....

So I say yes to giving your heart and home to a banjo picker and helping keep the streets of America free of feral banjo pickers! What would you rather have??

PS
My name is Alvin and I'm a banjo picker.
Yes I have been told, that if I wake her up at 3 A.M. one more time playing my banjo, I will be homeless.

"buy him a mandolin, and when he's not looking, burn the banjo."
now there's some sage advice.

I took a date to see Bela Fleck play.
All she did all night was drool at him.
"He's soooo cute; giggle giggle!"

If he plays a four string, then he's surely a good, wholesome, barbershop quartet kind of guy, the sort your Mum & Pa would be so conmfortable with at the table sharing the drumsticks and grits with. He probably really does have a steady gig someplace, like maybe, the ballpark on Saturday afternoons.
If he plays a five string, then hey, you better run for the hayloft & make sure he ain't up there makin' out with a cousin, or your sister!

I think you could go ahead and use the words "professional musicians" in place of "banjo pickers" and it would still be pretty accurate.

Buck Trent already made a solid body bango and it sounded just like a tele especially after he put a 6th string on it :-)

This is a funny response:

"I have no idea why it would be a bad idea to date a guy that plays the banjo. Like a lot of people have said, it shouldn't matter what he does as long as you love him. Besides, Billy Connolly plays the banjo and he's rolling in money."
