Interesting drum stuff

Post by David Mason »

A couple of threads here kicked off another epic internet quest for me. If you have a drum machine that lets you enter beats as step time, some of this stuff can be really neat. The mother of all drum sites: http://www.drumsdatabase.com/
Scroll down a bit to the lessons chart, root around.

Polyrhythms explained, clearly: http://www.xs4all.nl/~marcz/Polyrhythm.html

Rudiments chart: http://www.pas.org/Resources/rudiments/rudiments.html

There really is some theory and science behind this stuff! I guess I'll have to change all the protagonists in my drummer jokes to b@njo players... except, I suspect good b@njo players actually work pretty hard at what they do too, god knows why. Gosh, who can I make fun of anymore? Image<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by David Mason on 23 June 2006 at 06:13 AM.]</p></FONT>
