Ray Price & Joe Wright

Post by Joe Law »

I just got my flyer for the Hiawassee Ga summer shows and one of them is Ray Price & Joe Wright on July 25. This is too good to be true.My question- Is Joe doing a show by himself now or is he with Ray Price for this series of shows? Needless to say I already have my reservations.

Rest assured this is not the "other" Joe Wright. What a great show this will be.

Joe is the opening act for Ray. He will be backed by some members of the Ga. Mtn. Fair Staff Band. Come on up to the mountains. It should be a fun day.

I'm hoping he goes over really big so Hilda can use him often. His talent deserves a wider audience than the steel shows.

BTW, I played at Leslie, GA ~1983(?)when they were having winter time shows in somebody's cleaned up peanut silo. It was nice. We were backing Brad Williams, he was about seven then. We opened for David Frizell and Shellie West!

Thanks, Bill for the reply it's good that you remembered that far back.. That was when Plez Hardin, one of my good friends, was booking all the country shows down there. I was responsible for getting Brad, Rickie and the rest of you down there that time. We had all the big names down there even Glen Cambell and Dolly Parton. That was in the time before they got the BIG bucks to come. He was even lucky enought to have Alabama booked as their first show after winning the entertainer of the year award.
We'll see you in July at Hiawassee if I don't see you next week in Griffin.
