"After The Gold Rush"

Heard this the other night. Don't listen to GAC much at all, but it popped up------WOW! Is this a new realase, or not?

Just incredible. Three of my fav gals.

The video, and those 3 gifted and beautiful
women made me weep. I'm from they're era, and not ashamed to admit it. They are and have always been, just super people, singers, songwriters, and musicians.

What harmony. WOW.

And Neil Young to boot.........he's got it.

What a songwriter.

Has this CD been around for a while?

The Trio's album featuring "After The Goldrush" called "Two" was released in 1999. I saw the video for the first time in 1999 and if you'll notice in the video, there's a man playing a strange instrument. He's playing an instrument known as the glassharmonica. Awesome vocals...their CDs are great. I wish they would do more together.

As an aside, I noticed that they changed the line "And I felt like getting high" to "And I felt like I could cry." I was wondering if the suits made them change it, or if they did it on their own. I know in our band when we do Dead Flowers, I change "needle and a spoon" to "ticket to the moon" because I think its a cooler line. (Thanks David Nelson...)

Interesting, Mike, about changing the lyrics.
I didn't catch it the first time of course.

I'd venture to guess in their younger years both Emmylou and Linda probably got "high" quite a bit. Dolly, on the other hand, strikes me as pretty straight. I 'll bet she doesn't even drink, or drink much.

So now that they are older and wiser maybe now getting "high" on life itself is enough
