R.I.P. Jackie McLean

Post by Cliff Kane »

Sad news. Jackie was one my favorite alto players......to me he was a major bridge between Bird and the post hard-boppers.

Oh what a bummer,
my friend guitarist / Dr. Todd,
was occasionally jamming with Jackie down in Ct.

He always said he was a super guy to play with.

RIP Jackie.

The post bob/hard bob period of jazz is my favorite and it is always sad when we lose another from this era, especially someone of Mr. McLean's stature. May his music always live on.

If Todd's description of Jackie is right,
he'd like the original,
leave it. Image
