Scott Goddard R.I.P.

The L.A. music scene lost one of it's most colorful characters yesterday after a two year battle with liver cancer. Scott was a member of the 80's fun band "The Surf Punks" and later fronted his own band "The Numnutz". His brand of sophisticated parody and irony was just hysterical as well as quite musical - right up there with Weird Al and Frank Zappa. He coined the term "Cowpunk" and had a regional hit song of the same name in 1984. Scott was an extremely brilliant human being and I was fortunate enough to call him one of my very best friends. I spent the day with him just last week. I'm bummed. -MJ-
