Neil Levang

Post by Eric Stumpf »

Talk about a guy who faded into obscurity! There's not much about Neil on the web regarding his post-Welk career other than doing session work for Harry Nillsen. Is he still playing?

Strange that nothing much is out there on him. Plenty on Buddy Merrill the other guitarist in the Welk band.

I heard that Neil plays the Welk shows in Branson. I would think that Neil is getting all the work he wants, being so versatile, lead, rhythm, banjo, fiddle etc. Neil always avoided publicity or the lime light. He let his abilities speak for themselves. cc

I asked Mark Levang yesterday about his dad Neil. Neil has been happily retired for many years, and Mark says he never picks up the guitar anymore.
