I recently came across a cassette tape of the songs I created on my first professional midi setup around the early 90s. They are all synth-pop reggae stuff. I used a Roland U 20 synth ($1,200 new) connected to a Brother PDC100 sequencer($300? new). All quantized but I had to track them linear. It was not fun doing it being an amateur musician. I remember the headaches from slapping my forehead. Here is the link to them:
