Vern Gosdin

Post by Dale Bennett »

I first met Vern and his brother Rex in So Ca back in the 60's. Had the great pleasure to work with them a few times and got to know them and became a very big fan. I booked Vern into my places a couple of times here in Okc several yrs ago. I hadn't heard any reports on him in quite a while and was hoping some one might have some info on him. (hopefully good news). What a great singer and always great steel pickers on his records. Thanks guys, db

According to the website for Midwest Country Music Theater of Sandstone MN, Vern's gig on 8/27 was cancelled due to illness. Hopefully not serious and he's getting better.

Recently on the forum, it was noted that Vern has sustained a heart attack. I don't remember who provided the information. Johnny

Dale - KKNG here in OKC had a telephone interview with him last month on his birthday. He didn't sound too healthy to me, but I'm no doctor!

I had breakfast with him in Nashville five months ago and he was in good spirits. I don't know about any recent events.
