A WONDERFUL music web page

Post by Mike Perlowin RIP »

This page consists of a lot of MP3s from different mandolin players.

http://www.mandolincafe.com/mp3/

The styles range from classical to rock to jazz to blues to celtic to bluegrass. The only common denominator is the use of the mandolin. With so many different players and styles, the quality is inconsistant, but there's a lot of very nice music here. Enough to keep one entertained for several hours.

The page is sponsored by a company that builds mandolins. I think this is a real service to the mandolin community. I wish somebody would do it for us.

Listen to "A Place in the Heart" on the mp3 page. Beautiful melody.

Scott Tichenor, (the mandolin player on the above mentioned tune) is the man reasponsible for the site.

Thanks Mike, for sharing this site with us.

Les, I do agree, "Place in the Heart" is simply gorgeous. Honestly, it makes me wanna dust off my ol mandolin just to learn the tune. Nice to hear great music like that.

what about Rebel & Ricky's and

steelradio.com

while not exactly the same thing it's a start...

Me, I do it self promotionally, but "With so many different ... styles, the quality is inconsistant, but there's a lot of very nice music" Image

Seriously, though It is a good idea, but who would be the arbiter of what's included? who would sustain the domain and webhosting? It takes either a sponsor or a dedicated selfless individual or both to put something like that together IMO...
kinda like a Magazine for Steel Players...
