Sorry Billy..too vague a question..
Which guitar, what style..how much volume, what approach do you use..? Too much to list..
As a life long bone head Tele' slugger I have always come up dry on the solid state amps..N1000's, N400's whatever..they don't do it for me.
Fender tube amps ( 12AX7/6L6's )or similar brand amp has always been the "GO TO" amp for me. I don't play with any picks so volume is an issue for me. Less string attack results in LESS input volume so I prefer an amp that can really crank it out....
If you're looking for Double Duty don't look any farther than a Fender Twin as the reigning king..
Currently I use a Fender 60 watt Hot Rod Deville 2x12..it also sounds very good with the Steel at moderate volume..but don't rule out the Peavey 50 watt classics either..
Can't really give any sound advice on the N112 for guitars..but for me considering the 1000 and 400 didn't make it happen..well...

Hey Tony, I also use a DeVille 2-12 with my Tele but I have a little Peavey which sounds better. It's a model they don't make anymore called a "MX"... I has 4-6L6 power tubes but that's all. Everything else is solid state so it's some sort of combination. I bought it at a pawn shop for
$150 and it's a kick butt little amp. It has a 12" Black Widow speaker and you wouldn't believe how heavy this thing is. It outweighs the DeVille even with one less speaker. I mostly use my DeVille but if I have a gig in a large venue where we're not miked I'll set the MX on top of my Nashville 400 and run a line down to the 400. That rig puts out the best Tele sound I've ever had, even with a Twin reverb. I wish Peavey would put out the MX again and advertise them a little to guitar players. I think they'd sell good if people heard them...JH

Hey Billy, I'm a double duty guy most of the time, and would love to find a LIGHT amp that sounds great for my strat and my Zum. But alas, I have yet to find it. I just bought a Nashville 112, and it is the best sounding steel amp I have ever had. But, at my gig the other night, I couldn't get the strat to sound like I wanted it to. I think I could definitely dial in a decent sound with it, if I worked at it. But the bottom line is, when I change from steel to strat, I have to alter the amp settings which, as you know is impossible at a gig. So......I will now take the N112 for steel and my little Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp for strat. Great sounds from each lightweight amp. Sucks, but that's the way it is.

I used a Strat last Fri night and a Les Paul last Sat night through the Nash 112.
I run both steel and guit to an A/B box, then to the Black Box > MT-2 > RV-3 > 112.
I thought the Les sounded better than the Strat, and that is with the 112's EQ set for steel.
If you are buying it to use for both steel and guitar (with the amp dialed for steel), you will probably want to have a guitar preamp to shape the guitar tone to match the steel eq.
If you are buying it for guitar exclusively, there are probably some better amp choices at that price point.
[This message was edited by Pete Burak on 21 December 2004 at 01:50 PM.]
